Fun Floral Design with Fall Leaves

GrowNYC is hosting a virtual workshop: Fun Floral Design with Fall Leaves on October 28, 2020 from 2:00PM-3:00PM.

Attendees will receive a Zoom link one hour before the workshop.

The workshop will be recorded and posted to grownycdistancelearning.org

BloomAgainBklyn, is a non-profit organization that provides up-cycled flowers to those who may feel isolated, especially during the pandemic.

One of their most talented volunteers, Lisa Oberholzer-Gee, is a NYC-based floral designer who has her own flower business. Lisa wants to invite you to join her and enjoy the brilliant fall colors in our parks and neighborhoods at this time of year.

She loves using natural elements like leaves and branches. Lisa invites you and your family to make a fun design with natural items for a vase or even recycle a jar! She will demonstrate an easy design you could make in minutes, as well as more complex designs using natural elements! Flowers and nature always brighten up a room and put a smile on everyone's face. Let's create together!

For an interactive experience, here are things you might collect in the park or your neighborhood for the project:

  • Leaves (try to collect not more than a day before the workshop).

  • Small glass/ceramic vase or empty jars.

  • Any type of string.

You can also use flowers as an extra element.
