Molly Braverman - Director

Molly Braverman (she/her) is the Director of the Broadway Green Alliance. She previously served as the Managing Director of Theatre Horizon, a non-profit professional theatre company in Norristown, PA. She has worked as a Stage Manager on Broadway, Touring Broadway, and regionally, having spent three years on the road with the National Tour of Wicked and continuing to serve as a substitute Stage Manager on Wicked and Hamilton. Molly is also currently a Senior Consultant in Strategy and Operations for Theatre Projects .

Molly has lectured on sustainable theatre and stage management at universities and conferences around the country and internationally, including for Lincoln Center, the National Theatre, WHO and Jameel Arts & Health Lab, Hearst Media, Idartes Bogotá, Cultural Center of the Philippines, USITT, and the Theatres Trust Conference.  

She founded the Philadelphia Green Theatre Alliance, a regional chapter of the Broadway Green Alliance, and was trained by former Vice President Al Gore as a Climate Reality Leader.  She is a proud AEA member, recipient of the Dina Wind Fellowship for the Philadelphia Arts and Business Council’s Wharton School of Business Designing Leadership program, and graduate of Columbia University. She received a citation from the New York State Assembly for her service to the community. In 2022, Molly was elected to a four-year term as the Democratic Committeeperson for Philadelphia’s Ward 2 Division 12.

 

Austin Braxton-Smith - Program Manager

Austin Braxton-Smith (she/her) is excited to be a part of the Broadway Green Alliance staff! In the nonprofit sector, Austin was recently the Program Manager at The Clive and Valerie Barnes Foundation, where she oversaw the foundation’s annual awards ceremony. She has served as the Development Associate for Arts Ignite (formerly ASTEP) and is a frequent volunteer at Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Austin was a co-author of the BGA’s Greener Reopening Toolkit, and has presented on sustainable practices at Lincoln Center, TCG, FIT, and Playbill’s Curtain Up! festival in Times Square. As a performer, Austin has toured North America with The Phantom of the Opera, assisted Emmy Award winning choreographer Marguerite Derricks, and is currently a Show Supervisor for Step One Dance Company at RWS Entertainment Group. Austin is a graduate of Marymount Manhattan College, a member of Actors’ Equity Association, and a proud Canadian. 

 

Lauren Mandras - Communications Associate

Lauren Mandras (she/her) is a Communications Associate at the Broadway Green Alliance. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Central Florida – Rosen College of Hospitality Management with a Bachelor of Science in Entertainment Management. She previously worked as a Marketing Coordinator at GFour Productions, a theatrical production and management company whose current productions and investments include: Menopause The Musical® (U.S. Tour), On Your Feet! (U.S. Tour), SIX The Musical (Broadway, West End, and U.S. Tour), and more! Her previous experiences as a Communications Intern with the Broadway Green Alliance and as a Content Marketing Intern with the Seattle Children’s Theatre prepared her to take on these roles.

In addition to her experience in the performing arts industry, Lauren also has experience working in theme park marketing and entertainment operations for companies, such as Six Flags, Walt Disney World, and Universal Orlando Resort.

 

Kate Devaney - BGA Intern

Kate Devaney (she/her) is thrilled to be joining Broadway Green Alliance as their new Fall Intern! Originally from Ireland, she was the Marketing Officer at The Lir Academy when they produced the first ever 'green' show in Ireland. During her time there, she liaised with the sustainability team in implementing green practices within the academy and underwent carbon literacy training. This sparked her interest in learning about sustainable practices within the theatre sector, and she can't wait to further her education in this area with BGA. She has a BA in Journalism and an MA in Writing for Stage and Screen.
