Women in Sustainability are hosting a virtual event: Turning Your Business into an Eco-Conscious Company on November 10, 2020 from 2:30PM-3:30PM.

Turning Your Business into an Eco-Conscious Company w/ speakers Matt Hannon, Susan Renaud, and Berenice Garcia Tellez.

This webinar will showcase the steps businesses can implement to reduce their waste and carbon footprint, save money, and better engage employees and clients. Great opportunity for business owners, consumers, and anyone else to learn about how to create environmentally sustainable practices, act socially responsible, and contribute to the local economy of your community. Our presenters, Matt Hannon (Boulder County PACE), Susan Renaud (Certifiably Green Denver) and Berenice Garcia Tellez (Longmont Sustainable Business), will share their practices and pointers for an economical and impactful environmental solutions any type of business can adopt, including offerings and services available to businesses at no cost.

About the Speakers:

Matt HannonBoulder County PACE (Partners for a Clean Environment)

Matt Hannon spent his younger years running around the woods of Vermont, where he picked up the sustainability and environmental bug. After stints in DC, Wyoming and Montana, he found himself in beautiful Boulder, where he advises businesses of all sizes on increasing their level of sustainability. When he's not saving the world, Matt can be found hiking, snowboarding and playing soccer.

Susan Renaud, Certifiably Green Denver

Susan Renaud works for the City & County of Denver’s Office of Climate Action, Sustainability & Resiliency as the Community Engagement Administrator. Susan contributes to the office’s circular economy initiatives, manages the City’s business sustainability program, Certifiably Green Denver, and developed and implemented three neighborhood restaurant food waste pilots thanks to grant funding from the Natural Resources Defense Council. Prior to joining the team in Denver, Susan worked for the City of Boulder, Boulder County Resource Conservation and Eco-Cycle. She holds undergraduate degrees in Architecture and Spanish from the University of Virginia and a Masters in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Sydney.

Berenice Garcia Tellez, City of Longmont, Longmont Sustainable Business Program

Berenice Garcia Tellez, a Mexican native and travel enthusiast, received her master’s degree in Environmental Engineering in Saudi Arabia. Other countries she has lived in include Turkey, Italy, and Norway, where she worked researching climate change. Berenice currently manages the Sustainable Business Program at the City of Longmont and supports the growth and understanding of sustainability through building connections to inform and educate members of her community. She is excited to be working with the business community on implementing sustainable and equitable business practices that will lead to a more thriving economy. Some of Berenice’s favorite figures are Elon Musk and Batman. Though the two have very different origin stories, they both rose to make a great impact in their respective communities. While Batman may be fictional, both he and Elon Musk inspire Berenice to one-day do something that influences the world.
