Kay McKeen has over 30 years of experience educating people of all ages on recycling and resource conservation and serving the community as an environmental advocate and advisor. Through her passion and knowledge, she has guided many individuals, schools, organizations and municipalities to make sustainable and healthy changes that continue to help our planet, wildlife, and communities thrive.
Kay is the recipient of many awards such as Illinois Recycler of the Year and has been featured on many media outlets including NBC Evening News, WBEZ, and WBBM Newsradio. She has worked closely with legislators and the Illinois Environmental Council to advance Illinois’ environmental protections. Recently, Kay was appointed to the Statewide Materials Management Advisory Committee to advise the Illinois General Assembly on landfill diversion strategies.
