Listening Under Water: Generative Poetry Workshop with Elizabeth Bradfield

Mass Poetry is hosting a virtual event “Listening Under Water: Generative Poetry Workshop with Elizabeth Bradfield” on March 11, 2021 from 7:00PM-9:00PM EST.

Join Mass Poetry for our workshop series on Poetry and Environmental Justice!

About this Event:

Whether it is the songs of bearded seals, the echolocation of sperm whales, or the underwater soundscapes created by industrial (and industrious) humans, sound in the ocean is vastly significant. Light can only penetrate so far into the depths, but sound travels further in water than in air, and animals use it to find each other, avoid each other, navigate, and croon. Poet/naturalist Elizabeth Bradfield will delve into some of the natural history of ocean sound and we'll listen, learn, and explore together, discovering what poems and poetic soundscapes might be shaped by our listening.
