LES Ecology Center is hosting an in-person event “Take the Bait: Free Public Fishing Clinics in East River Park” on June 29, 2021 from 2:00pm-4:00pm.
Learn about the life and waters of the East River as you fish, using our rods and bait!
About this Event:
The East River is an iconic waterway and feature of New York City. Help us build our database of the species of the river through community science angling. All are welcome, whether it's your first time fishing or you're a professional angler. Instruction, bait, and tackle will be provided. Fish will be released or kept temporarily for display.
Proper precautions will be taken to socially distance and stop the spread of Covid-19. Shared materials will be sanitized after each use and masks are required. Participants should stay home if they are feeling ill or if they suspect exposure to Covid-19.
Clinics will take place on Saturday June 12 and Tuesday June 29.
