The Lower East Side Ecology Center's Community Garden. are opening their gates for guided tours. An unlikely pocket of lush green in the dense fabric of the Lower East Side, the community garden on East 7th Street has served as a neighborhood respite and environmental action hub since 1987.

Staff from the LES Ecology Center will be on hand to talk about the organization's history and mission, and its ongoing programs in composting, environmental stewardship, recycling, and sustainability.
