Greenpoint Art Circle and Sustainable Ocean Alliance NYC present ?The Marine City with artworks from our members exploring the rich and varied relationship between NYC and it’s marine environment in the beautiful Church of the Ascension in Greenpoint. The opening reception also features poetry and music on the theme. The show runs through April 3rd and viewing hours will be Thursdays and Fridays from 6-9pm and weekends 12-6pm. 

New York City, an iconic metropolis, also boasts pristine wetlands and shorelines as a vital part of its ecology. The Marine City explores the storied connection between the city and its marine environment. Themes vary from climate change-related issues, historical recollections, community interactions, and much more. 

We look forward to showcasing local artists’ work and engaging with community members and ocean health advocates at the opening event about preserving the amazing marine environment of New York City into the future.
