Alex Boersma & Nick Pyenson discuss their non-fiction picture book THE WHALE WHO SWAM THROUGH TIME: A TWO-HUNDRED-YEAR JOURNEY IN THE ARCTIC
About this event
This is the story about a whale who will live for a very long time. Bowhead whales can live for over 200 years, longer than any of the other mammals in the world. Throughout their lives, they travel around the Arctic Ocean experiencing human’s imprint along the way. The Bowhead whale witnesses many changes: from an era of peace and solitude to one of oil rigs and cruise liners. The Whale Who Swam Through Time: A Two-Hundred-Year Journey in the Arctic pairs striking illustrations with scientific research about the world’s changing ecosystems.
