Reimagining Our World & Future Together

  • United Nations Headquarters 405 East 42nd Street New York, NY, 10017 United States (map)

The topic of this event will be on REIMAGINING OUR WORLD AND FUTURE TOGETHER: An integral approach towards sustainable development.

The ongoing pandemic has highlighted significant systemic gaps, showing us that communities and all levels of government need to be better equipped. In our attempt to “build back better” from coronavirus, we are challenged to prioritize the improvement of resilience and technical capacity. This event will address systemic gaps and the value of improving social safety nets and partnerships (SDG 17) to ensure resilience - including among the most vulnerable - and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.

This event will look at what has changed or improved over the last few months and how certain adaptations in business, government and development assistance have been effective. Panelists will include the private sector, UN Member States reporting Voluntary National Reviews (VNRs) during the 2022 HLPF, academia and civil society - specifically program staffers and experts. A youth representative will also be included, to exhibit unique challenges for youth and their solutions as leaders in their communities.

Special focus will be placed on examples concerning partnerships (SDG 17) and gender equality (SDG 5) in alignment with their in-depth priority during the 2022 HLPF. Panelists will reflect and share which IDGs consciously/unconsciously they have addressed and/or should have addressed while trying to achieve the SDGs.
