Queens Farm welcomes individuals (ages 18 & older) to work alongside our farmers in the growing fields through our Cultivator Crew Volunteer Days. Volunteer days & time slots are Tuesdays 10am-12pm & 1pm-4pm and Sundays 1pm-4pm, and must be pre-selected as spaces are limited. Volunteering at Queens Farm is a great way to meet your neighbors, enjoy the great outdoors, and learn about sustainable agriculture at NYC's working farm.
Planning your visit:
Prepare to get dirty! Wear proper outdoor work attire (hat, sunglasses, layers, rain gear, gardening gloves, closed-toed shoes, etc.).
Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated.
Bring snacks/lunch with you (there is no cafe on site).
Tasks are often physically strenuous, and can include weeding, mulching, turning compost, or harvesting, depending on the needs of the farm that day.
No experience necessary.
Volunteers are encouraged to stay for the whole time slot.
