If you live in the US, there’s a good chance you have per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, or PFAS, in your body right now. Also known as “forever chemicals,” these compounds are linked to several types of cancer, are slow to break down, and can accumulate gradually in our bodies. They are found in household dust, cookware, clothing, cosmetics, and many other products we use daily.
Worst of all, more than 200 million people in the US may be drinking tap water contaminated with PFAS. But thanks to the relentless advocacy of climate champions like you and organizations like A-Z Impacts of Plastics and Petrochemicals Coalition, local and state-level regulations have been passed to limit PFAS in drinking water.
Join A-Z Impacts with guest speaker Tamela Trussell for the next webinar in the Your Health Matters Series: PFAS this Thursday, February 23 at 7 PM ET to learn more about PFAS and how to engage your municipalities in testing your drinking water for these toxic chemicals.
