Fruit Tree Grafting

Grow multiple varieties of fruit on one tree! Learn how to graft fruiting scion (a stem cutting) onto an existing tree in the Rosaceae family (apple, pear, plum, cherry). Participants will learn the tree biology behind grafting, the basic tools needed, and various methods such as cleft, bark, whip and tongue, and saddle grafts. This workshop will also cover how to cut a root stock tree’s branch to graft the scion and properly attach the new scion.

F?acilitated by Sam Van Aken (The Open Orchard) and Will Thompson (Arborist).
