Join NYC H2O along with the Natural Resources Protective Association and Council Member Carr for a volunteer cleanup at Oakwood Beach!
Oakwood Beach and adjoining wetlands deal with a double-edged sword of being a secret to most of Staten island. The site holds one of the highest density populations of Osprey seen on the Island. While the wildlife holds strong, the few people that are around, and the close proximity to a waste plant, brings in a huge amount of trash.
The cleanup will run from 10 am to 12 pm. Gloves, garbage bags, and pickers will be provided. Make sure to bring water and dress appropriately for the weather!
