Volunteer at the food scrap drop-off site at the Union Square Greenmarket!

Fridays they are located on the north end of the plaza, across the street from Barnes and Noble

Wednesday & Saturday they can be found at Union Square East (near East 16th St and Park Ave)

They are looking for volunteers to help us manage our food scrap drop-off site, to promote compost awareness and the organization's mission, and to help with other tasks that may come up. This is a great opportunity for those who are interested in talking to people, don't mind being on their feet, and enjoy being outdoors. 

You will be working alongside an LES Ecology Center staff person. We also have a comprehensive FAQ document that we can share with volunteers so that you feel comfortable answering questions from the public.

WHAT TO BRING

• Gloves (extras onsite) and protective clothing appropriate for the weather

• Hydration and snacks

• Hat and sunscreen
