At 10am on Saturday, September 7th join the BMA as they add hundreds of new native plants to their restoration site on the 83rd Street Mall. The summer's heat has taken its toll on some of our juvenile native plants, so the BMA is asking for help from the community to keep this ecological restoration thriving. This past spring, the BMA planted the malls at 83rd and 164th streets to study the viability of an ecological restoration of the Broadway Malls. They installed thousands of native plants, providing much needed enhancements to the malls for both wildlife and New Yorkers. This marks the beginning of the BMA’s project to restore the entire stretch of malls from 70th to 164th streets, creating The Great Green Way.
