The Antigone Project presents dramatic readings by acclaimed actors of Sophocles’ Antigone as a catalyst for powerful, healing discussions about racialized violence, police brutality, systemic oppression, gender-based violence, health inequality, and social justice.

This presentation of The Antigone Project is part of a series of events accompanying the release of Bryan Doerries' translations of Sophocles' Oedipus Trilogy: Oedipus The King, Oedipus at Colonus, and Antigone. We encourage our audience to attend all three events and engage in the story of an intergenerational curse passing through a single family, tracing an arc from early childhood trauma to familial and societal collapse.

We are proud to collaborate with The On Being Project on this series. This event will be introduced by Pádraig Ó Tuama, host of the Poetry Unbound podcast.

Featuring performances by Moses Ingram (The Queen's Gambit), Bill Camp (The Night Of), Ato Blankson-Wood (When They See Us), Nyasha Hatendi (Alex Rider), Marjolaine Goldsmith (Company Manager of Theater of War Productions), Jumaane Williams (Public Advocate of New York City), and Willie Woodmore.
