Tackling Carbon Emissions Through Green Transport

Clean Growth SE is hosting a virtual event where they will be discussing Tackling Carbon Emissions Through Green Transport on Monday, July 5th from 9:00AM to 11:00AM.

This is a chance for businesses to look at how their transportation sectors are effecting emissions and what they can do to improve their practices.

About this event:

It is widely understood that a large proportion of the greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to global warming originate from the ways in which we move about our environment. Travel by businesses and individuals alike present a significant challenge in terms of achieving sustainable emissions reduction.

According to the National Atmospheric Emissions Inventory (funded by BEIS), transport emissions have seen a reduction of just 3% (387Kt/CO2) since 2005, with an increase of 5% (403Kt/Co2) over the last 5 years. This acutely highlights the need for the decarbonization of the transport sector.

But what can businesses do to reduce their emissions? And what are the emerging technologies that will build sustainability into our transport system into the future?

Launched earlier this year, the Clean Growth South East program aims to engage with businesses across Essex, Kent and East Sussex, to understand their challenges and opportunities around achieving clean growth and will develop practical actions to support businesses to become greener and grow in this exciting sector.

This next event in the series of virtual events and webinars suggests ways of Tackling Carbon Emissions Through Green Transport. Introducing concepts such as green travel policies and exploring examples of how to implement a green fleet, this event aims to give you the knowledge to allow you to start developing your roadmap to more sustainable business operations.
