Saturday October 29, 2022 marks the 10 year anniversary of Hurricane Sandy. Over the last 10 years we are reminded in many ways how the Lower East Side is a waterfront community and is situated on the front lines of the impacts of rising water levels due to climate change.
All are invited to join the LES Ecology Center for an afternoon to connect with our local waterway: the East River. Stop by to enjoy:
Water color painting lessons, using water from the East River
Tutorials on water quality testing
Lessons on how to fish
Learn about the diverse life that lives in the East River
All activities will take place on Sat Oct 29 from 11:30am-1:30pm. Drop-in at anytime. If you'd like to reserve a fishing rod, please do so through this sign up.
Event Location: We will meet on the promenade at this location. It is along the water near the southern end of the track. The closest park entrance is the footbridge at 6th street.
